The Digital Dockyard launches
A NEW social network for individuals and companies working in the North East's new media and gaming sectors has been launched.
Created by 4iP with support from Northern Film and Media, the dockyard is, "A repository for ideas and information, bringing together the digital scene in the North East".
The website – at http://www.digitaldockyard.com – enables users to profile their work and passions with fellow members, to share ideas with colleagues from related sectors, and discuss topics of concern or interest.
Users of the site can also post their own events, photos, blog posts, videos and set up groups of interest.
Related to Channel 4, 4iP is a new £50m innovation fund to stimulate public service digital media (beyond television) across the UK. With the aim of supporting great ideas for websites, games and mobile services which help people improve their lives.
