When you're entering into business with a client, it's important they understand and accept your Terms & Conditions of Business in order to protect you against any potential problems.

After all, we've all heard of clients refusing to pay for completed work and other common problems that can occur.

With that in mind, here you can download two Terms & Conditions of Business documents (with empty fields to enter dates, costs, timescales, etc), which have been prepared for Codeworks Connect members by leading UK law firm Ward Hadaway.

  • Formal agreement – to be used when you're entering into business with a client. It should be signed by both parties.
  • Informal agreement – to be used when you're submitting a proposal. It doesn't require a signature and is supposed to give the potential client an idea of what your Terms & Conditions would be should they hire you.
  • Guidance notes – notes explaining how to use both documents.

Tip: download all three documents and save them on your desktop or to your intranet, ready to use whenever you need them. Of course, you can always come back to this page whenever you need.
